J. Daniel Holden – President



Mr. Holden is responsible for global operations and market development and is a member of the Advisory Committee to the Board of Directors. Mr. Holden has over 37 years of experience in investment banking, private placement sales and trading and executive management for major Wall Street firms. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of Core Pacific Securities, the U.S. brokerage operation of a major financial services company based in Taiwan, responsible for U.S. operations, American investment banking, and distribution and trading for the company. He also served as Executive Vice President and head of investment banking for American Frontier Financial Corp. More recently Mr. Holden served as CEO of Holden Pearce Capital, a merchant banking and management consulting firm specializing in business strategy development, investment banking and funding for small companies. He has held senior management positions with the investment firms of Kidder Peabody, Dean Witter Morgan Stanley, Prudential Securities, Nomura Securities, and The Chicago Corporation (ABN/AMRO), founding their Private Placement Departments and heading secondary fixed income trading and institutional sales. His experience includes taxable fixed income and equity securities origination, research, sales and trading management, starting his career as an institutional bond salesman in 1970 with F.S. Smithers & Co. a recognized leader in the field, at the forefront of swapping secondary bonds and fixed income qualitative research. Mr. Holden has been on the leading edge of the Wall Street computer trading revolution, developing significant trading and sales systems with Prudential Securities, Dean Witter Morgan Stanley, Chicago Corporation (ABN/AMRO) and. RBC Dominion Securities. At RBC Dominion Securities (1975 to 1981), he was General Manager of the Bond Analysis System (BASIS), which was the first on-line interactive bond research and trading analysis system designed to assist portfolio managers and traders optimize their portfolios through horizon analysis and maximization of their trading opportunities through statistical analysis of pricing movements. While with Prudential Securities (1981 to 1985), he was Vice President of Investment Technology and developed trading systems and analytical tools for the Corporate Bond Department, including a number of proprietary trading and portfolio management programs that were exclusive “firsts” on Wall Street: the first online Discounted Cash Flow calculator program and the first “Contingent Immunization” modeling program. With the other firms, he refined his own trading programs and databases, moved into derivatives, and was recognized as one of the top traders on the street in secondary private placements and special situations. At Core Pacific and American Fronteer, Mr. Holden developed online trading systems between Asia and the U.S. markets. Mr. Holden is fully licensed as an NASD principal in investment banking and private placements and has held Series 24, 7, 63 and 65 licenses and state insurance licenses. He holds the AAMS (Accredited Asset Management Specialist) designation from the College for Financial Planning. He is a member of Marquis Who’s Who; Who’s Who Worldwide; National Register’s Who’s Who; and Cambridge Who’s Who. Mr. Holden has been a frequent guest speaker on the topics of Private Placements, Alternative Financing Solutions, Investment Planning and Fund Raising, and Entrepreneurship for numerous financial conferences. He was educated at the University of Illinois and Millikin University, receiving a B.S. Degree in Business Administration and Economics. He attended the management science graduate program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
